Ute Conference Hosts Second Referee Training for 2024 Season

On Saturday, April 6th, the Ute Conference held its second referee training session for the upcoming 2024 season. This event focused on preparing referees for the new season by covering a variety of important topics, including the rules for the new Air Raid 7’s tournaments, communication skills, and the latest UC tackle football rules.

The introduction of Air Raid 7’s tournaments is a significant addition to this year’s competition lineup. Referees spent part of the training learning about the specific rules and gameplay mechanics of these tournaments to ensure they are ready to officiate these games effectively.

Good communication is essential for referees to perform their duties successfully, so a portion of the training was dedicated to enhancing communication skills. This includes how to convey decisions clearly to players, coaches, and spectators, as well as how to work efficiently as a team with other officials.

The training also provided a comprehensive review of the 2024 tackle football rules. With updates and changes to the rules each season, it’s crucial for referees to be well-versed in these to maintain fairness and consistency in every game.

The Ute Conference is committed to ensuring the highest quality of officiating for the 2024 season. As part of this commitment, multiple training sessions will be held in the weeks ahead. These trainings are designed to equip referees with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to meet the high standards expected by the Conference and its participants.

With the season drawing near, the Ute Conference looks forward to a successful year of competitions, supported by a team of well-prepared and professional referees. Stay tuned for further updates as we continue our preparations for an exciting 2024 season.
