Welcome to Brighton Youth Football!

We are excited to kick off another big year of Brighton Youth Football. Thank you for your support and passion. If you are new, welcome to this incredible community and football family. Please also visit the Important Dates page. There are some key dates that you will need to plan for – specifically equipment handouts, try-outs and weigh-ins.

Registration is NOW OPEN! Click here – Payment Plans are Available!

  • Registration Fees Include uniforms (yours to keep), helmets and shoulder pads, referees, field rentals, medics, security, insurance and more!
  • There will also be a team fee to cover expenses like player gift, team banquet, psych night, coaches gift, etc.
  • You will need to provide your own cleats, mouth-guard and water bottle.
  • Once registered, you will receive a Welcome Email with more information, specifically a link to sign up for Equipment Handouts! Equipment handouts are done BY APPOINTMENT ONLY – walk-ups will be turned away.
  • New Players: if this is your first year playing with Brighton we will need to collect your player’s birth certificate and proof of residence. Equipment will not be issued unless you bring these these documents.

TRYOUTS: Friday, July 25th – Tuesday July 29th (no Sunday) @ Bella Vista Elementary. Attendance is Mandatory.

  • EVERY player who tries out makes a team. NO CUTS
  • Tryouts are meant to determine proper placement of which team your player should be on within the age group.
  • Friday July 25th is helmet only. All other days will be full pads (helmet and shoulder pads).

Practices:

  • After tryouts and team splits, we will move to Butler Park (behind Cottonwood Heights Rec Center) for the duration of the season.
  • For the first three full weeks, teams will practice 5 days a week, which may include Saturday.
  • Starting August 18th, practice will be held 3 days a week for 2 hours – specific days and times will be determined by the coaches and communicated at a team level.
  • Players should arrive 15 minutes early to every practice to give them time to get ready and start practice on time.
  • Games are EVERY SATURDAY, INCLUDING LABOR DAY WEEKEND, so you will need to plan to be in town for all games

Volunteer Expectations: Brighton Youth Football is a completely volunteer-run organization. Joining Brighton includes a commitment that parents will volunteer to help us, which will include team activities and also game days (e.g., field set up/take down, goodie wagon, grill, etc).

Coaches:

  • All coaches (Head and Assistant) must complete the Coach Certification and Background Check  – opening March 1. Only those who have completed these items before the first game will be badged and able to coach during the 2025 season.
  • ONLY BADGED COACHES AND ROSTERED PLAYERS are permitted inside the ropes on Game Days. No film crews, water boys, or other people will be permitted. Violation of this rule will result in a penalty and possible removal from the game.
  • Anyone interested in being an Assistant Coach may reach out and we will share your contact information with the Head Coach of your age group for their consideration.

Weigh-Ins: Monday, 8/4 (during practice)

  • Weigh-Ins are MANDATORY as part of roster certification. If you cannot make this date, let your coach and team mom know so we can make arrangements to send your player to another district to weigh in. If not done by 8/9, player cannot play in first game.
  • X-Men (lineman) may declare their X-Status and skip weighing-in.
  • Y-Ups and Z-Downs are subject to review and approval by District President depending on several factors, including team size.
